EAF Transformers are used in an arc furnace as they receive an input of low and high voltage current and convert it into a high current.
A furnace transformer is usually designed in a way that it can increase or decrease the voltage. For this alternating Current (AC) is used as it is effective to use in a heating system.
The inducer fan motor, ignition system, and furnace blower all require 120 volts. A transformer that reduces the 120 volts to 24 volts is also present in the majority of furnaces. The fan timer and thermostat are part of the furnace control system, which runs on 24-volt electricity.
We have five various types of transformers for Arc welding. All these transformers are AC transformers. Also, the DC rectifier, generator and inverter, and AC/DC transformer rectifier are used.
